Is there really a cemetery under the high school? Did you know that one of the most famous diners on Route 66 has a Harvey House connection? Do you know the story of the Travel Lodge motel chain? Did you know that there is an ultra rare pre war auto court that was listed in the Negro Motorist Green Book in Kingman, Arizona?
On this fun filled, fast paced episode of Coffee With Jim, America's storyteller shares a few of the discoveries made during development of the innovative narrated, self guided historic district walking tour in Kingman. Spearheaded by Kingman Main Street, this project has shed light on urban legend, uncovered historic treasures and brought history to life.
This program is sponsored in part by the City of Tucumcari, the living time capsule that is the Roadrunner Lodge, the one and only Uranus Fudge factory & General Store, RouteTrip USA and Kingman Route 66 Fest scheduled for October 14-15.
