Jericho. A ghost town along Route 66 in the Texas Panhandle. An empty place with only a tumble down farmhouse and derelict auto court standing in mute testimony to better times. But it is also a town with a bright and promising future thanks to the passion, the dedication, and the dreams of Blair and Blanca Schaffer.
In this morning's program Blanca Schaffer shares their passion and vision for the forgotten town of Jericho. But this is more than a dreamers tale. It is an inspirational story as Blanca also talks of building a sense of community, of feeding people with hearty home grown produce as well as a healthy dose of encouragement, and sharing America's story with a new generation.
Today's program is sponsored in part by the Roadrunner Lodge Motel in Tucumcari, New Mexico, the Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba, Missouri, and the Cactus Inn Motel and RV Park in McLean, Texas.
