It lasted less than five minutes. But the story of the shootout at the Blevins house is an epic legend in the annals of territorial Arizona history. Dating to 1881, the Higgins House has served as a hospital, a boarding house, a hotel, a motel complex, a saloon, and as the Masonic Lodge. The Navajo County Courthouse is linked to a darkly comedic tale of frontier era justice.
On today's program America's storyteller author Jim Hinckley tells the story of Holbrook, Arizona. Telling people where to go, and sharing America's story, it's what we do at Jim HInckley's America.
Today's program is sponsored in part by Visit Tucumcari (visittucumcarinm.com), Roadrunner Lodge Motel, Wagon Wheel Motel, RouteTrip USA, and Uranus Fudge Company & General Store.
