On today's episode we get a look behind the scenes in our visit with Angela and Blas, proprietors at Earl's Route 66 Motor Court in Winslow, Arizona. It's a tale of inspiration, tenacity, perseverance and adapting to the twists and turns of life. And it's a fascinating story about the history of a classic Route 66 motel and its transition from neglect to revered treasure. Today's program is also a look at the Route 66 renaissance and a glimpse of what the highways's centennial might mean to small business owners along that highway corridor.
As our theme song by The Road Crew says, come along for the ride. This is Jim Hinckley's America where we share America's story and tell people where to go.
Today's program about an historic motel is sponsored in part by the iconic Wagon Wheel Motel in Cuba, Missouri. It is also sponsored by the mid century gem that is the Cactus Inn Motel on Route 66 in McLean, Texas.
