Just east of Kingman, Arizona, on Route 66 is a delightful little oasis, a magical place where the pie is fresh and on the hottest day of summer, it is 61 degrees! This is Grand Canyon Caverns. Discovered in 1927, the caverns evolved with Route 66, fell on hard times with the highway bypass in the late 1970's, and now, in the era of renissance on the Main Street of America, is rising from the ashes like the mythical phoenix.
