His name was Cadwallader Washburn Kelsey, Carl to friends. He was a tinkerer fascinated by automobiles. And he was a marketing genius that as the sales manager for Maxwell transformed the company into an industry leader. He developed the first filmed automobile commercial and pioneered automotive marketing geared toward women.
His Motorette was unique. It could have transformed the auto industry. But sabotage ended the endeavor just as the company was begining to soar.
