When he launched a business venture along Route 66, Humphrey Bogart, Clark Gable and Jack Benny happily invested. And he was the only convicted murderer to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The disappearance of George Lorius, his wife Laura, and their friends Albert and Tillie Heberer, was the catalyst for the largest man hunt in New Mexico history. Even the National Guard was involved. 
The vacationing couples were having a grand time traveling west along Route 66. They made a detour to Vaughn, New Mexico and simply vanished. Clues led to Albuquerque and Quemado, New Mexico, and El Paso, Texas. Then the trail went cold.
