A fascinating conversation about the Illinois Rock & Roll Museum on Route 66 with Ron Romero, the founder, director and CEO, kicked off today's program. But it soon evolved into an inspirational program about the magic of Route 66, how tourism can be used to build a sense of community and community purpose, the Joliet renaissance, and the opportunities represented by the fast approaching Route 66 centennial.

This mornings wide ranging conversation with Professor Nick Gerlich will definitely inspire a road trip or two. Cut from the cloth of Indiana Jones, Gerlich has traveled thousands of miles to photograph vintage neon signs, historic theatres, and the intriguing aviation navigation arrows from the 1920s.
Through photography he has documented the history of more than 150 forgotten Texas Panhandle towns, the sites along lost highways such as U.S. 64, the fast vanishing wooden grain elevators in the prairie provinces of Canada, and of course, legendary Route 66.
Join author, historian and humorist Jim Hinckley, and Professor Nick Gerlich for a rod trip inspiring audio adventure.
